Trover Saves The Universe Brings Justin Roiland's Signature Comedy To PSVR This May

If you like to laugh then consider yourself lucky to know that Trover Saves the Universe, the latest VR game from Squanch Games, is set to hit PSVR (and standard PS4) later this year on May 31st, 2019.

We played it back at E3 2018 and recently played it once again at GDC last week (more on that later this week) and came away full-on laughing both times. Fans of Rick and Morty or Accounting, their first VR game, should be very happy to know that the signature brand of Justin Roiland humor is fully intact.

I can honestly say it’s an extremely ridiculous game. I mean, just look:

In it you play as an individual that’s confined to a chair. You guide Trover around (the purple blob character) and give him commands using your gamepad. It’s a 3D platformer action game, but the real secret sauce here is just how funny it all is. Trover is always breaking the fourth wall to insult the game’s design, the developers, or even you personally.

As of now the biggest concern about Trover Saves the Universe is whether or not the humor will grow old after a while. This sort of thing can get a bit grating over time, so hopefully there is enough variety and actually good gameplay to keep it fun from start to finish. Accounting stayed great all the way through so fingers crossed here as well.
