Upload and Nokia OZO Team Up For 360 Filmmaking & Live Streaming Masterclasses

360 videos are hot commodities right now. Everyone from Facebook to YouTube to Snapchat is tripping over themselves to integrate spherical video into their platform. There’s a boom happening in demand for 360 content and the hardware to make it happen, but what about the techniques?

360 filmmaking is an infant in the world of cinematography. There are so many questions that need to be answered before a 360 video can become a good 360 video. Where should your subjects stand? Where should the action take place? How can you direct a scene for an audience with the power to look wherever they wish?

Another rapidly emerging branch of 360 filmmaking is live streaming events – specifically music festivals in VR. The Nokia OZO camera was built with live-streaming in mind. With their new OZO Live offering, the OZO team has taken it to events around the world, including recently at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. What’s involved in a 360 live streaming production? How does one tackle technical problems that arise in the heat of the action?

These are all hurdles that burgeoning 360 artists need to overcome in order to reach their goal of true immersive excellence. That’s where we come in.

Upload is partnering with Nokia OZO to put on 2 masterclasses:
“360 Filmmaking Best Practices” and “How to Live Stream a Concert in VR”. This December 13th and 15th at 7PM PST we will stream 2 live educational sessions via the Nokia OZO on YouTube 360.
