Valve Unveils Steam's First Massive VR Weekend Sale

There is a lot of great VR content out there. Here at UploadVR, we pride ourselves on being your go-to place to stay up-to-date on all of the latest and greatest VR games on all platforms, even going so far as rounding up the new releases for each and every week as they drop. And so far in these early months of consumer VR, Steam has distinguished itself as one of the best places to get VR games.

It might be suffering from a bit of a quality curation issue and some people complain about the prices of VR experiences, but make no mistake: there is currently no place like Steam to get some of the best VR games money can buy.

Today, Valve announced their first official VR Weekend Sale, which includes a massive bundle of VR games and experiences as well. As is usual on Steam, the sale and bundle run concurrently, whereas the bundle combines what they deem to be some of the best options into one, massive, but slightly cheaper, package.

In the big bundle, you’ll get these 20 games, many of which have appeared on our best HTC Vive games and best HTC Vive multiplayer games lists:

Each of these games is certainly worth playing making this a very attractive bundle. However, to get all 20 games, it will cost you a whopping $256.52 when it’s all said and done. This is a great deal to snag if you are brand new to VR or are jumping in very soon, as you’ll essentially amass a collection of some of the biggest and best VR games on Steam. However, if you already have a lot of these games – which many early adopters do – then it’s not worth the price.

Instead, you’ll want to turn your attention to the larger VR Weekend Sale itself, which features nearly 200 different VR games for Vive and Rift with heavy discounts. You can buy each of those individual games listed above at nice prices on their own, as well as dozens of others. I’d recommend looking through the list and figuring out what tickles your VR fancy.
