Virtual Intercourse with Real People Combines Sex Robots With VR

The inevitable has happened; someone is combining sex robots with VR.

The porn industry has long been touted as a potential major driving factor for taking VR mainstream, though current technology is limited. This week, though, adult streaming company CamSoda announced Virtual Intercourse with Real People (VIRP), a service that combines VR porn with RealDoll robots. The idea being (if you couldn’t figure it out for yourself), that users have intercourse with a robot whilst appearing to have sex with a human inside of VR.

It works by selecting a type of RealDoll that matches with a real cam girl that you’ll see inside VR. The robot pairs with your smartphone via Lovesense Max and then simulates movements. You can order one here (obviously this is very NSFW).

“People have long speculated as to how the adult industry would seamlessly harness its cutting edge technology to deliver the ultimate sensory experience, one that mimics real-life interaction and, of course, intercourse,” said Darren Press, VP, CamSoda. “Our partnership with RealDoll to allow our fans to VIRP is an absolute game changer. Fans will now be able to interact with their favorite cam models in real time via live virtual reality while simultaneously feeling the sensations of actual intercourse via their RealDoll and teledildonic integration.

Still, this isn’t exactly an affordable initiative; RealDoll robots start at $1,500. If porn really is going to drive VR forward, it still needs to be at a price most people would pay for it (which, in this day and age, is nothing).
