VR Mental Illness Experience Anamorphine Delayed

VR Mental Illness Experience Anamorphine Delayed

We’ve been keeping a close eye on Anamorphine for a while now. Sadly, we’ll have to wait a little longer to play it.

The new VR game, originally due to launch on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR (PSVR) this winter will now be arriving in late Q1 2018, likely indicating a March release date. Developer Artifact 5 issued the following statement on the game’s delay.

“A little bit of extra care always goes a long way. We’ve been working on Anamorphine, our introspective adventure title, for quite some time now. Naturally, we’re excited to cross the finish line and let players experience the story of Tyler and Elena in full. As we draw near our intended launch date of January 16, we’ve decided that we need a few more weeks to polish Anamorphine. Thanks to all the members of our community for your patience.”

Anamorphine tackles the difficult subject of mental health, following Tyler’s struggle with post-traumatic denial caused by a tragic incident that leaves his wife Elena seriously injured. You’ll revisit scenes from the pair’s past through Tyler’s memories.

We’ll be very interested to see how the game shapes up when we finally get our hands on it later in the year.
