VR arcades are getting increasingly popular. And content like Tower Tag from VR Nerds presents a new path for Out-of-Home Entertainment. Instead of providing the same experience for a smaller price, it is time to give users something they cannot experience at home. Tower Tag is an augmented virtual reality game, with an advanced custom build gun and the physical tower in your tracking space.
The weapon has improved rumble system, providing a complex and highly satisfying tactile feedback. The controller weight is also increased, which gives a much more realistic feeling to the act of shooting. And then there is the tower in the middle of the tracking space. It is synchronized with the one in the virtual environment. As a result, taking cover in VR generates an increased level of presence.
Besides the main topic of the episode – VR Nerds’ newest creation – we’ve shortly touched upon other initiatives they started, such as NearbyVR or their news website for the German audience.
