Many are calling 2016 the Year of VR, and it’s true. This year there will be higher quality tech, more immersive experiences and better ideas introduced into the scene than ever before. This is shaping up to be an exciting year for the industry, so UploadVR wants to kick things off the right way. UploadVR is hosting a party at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend.
VR is catching the eye of Hollywood in a big way and we want to push even further by providing enough awesome experiences and exclusive content to keep their focus for the years to come.
Here’s what UploadVR has going on this weekend in partnership with VR Fest:
VR Fest Lounge
We’ll be running The VR Lounge from noon to 7 p.m. This is a showcase where we will display the most cutting edge VR tech from leaders in the film industry. The Lounge will also play host to the Women of Sundance Panel.

Noon to 3 p.m. VR Lounge Exhibits
2 to 3 p.m. VR and Film panel discussion
3 to 5 p.m. Refinery29 Women of Sundance Panel
5 to 7 p.m. VR Happy Hour
Lounge vacancy is limited and going fast so make sure to RSVP if you’re interested in attending.
UploadVR Influencer Mixer
The mixer (from 9 p.m. to midnight) is an invite only gathering of luminaries from the world of both VR and Film. Executives from Oculus, HTC, Lucasfilm, New Frontier, Wired, Access Hollywood, E! Entertainment, and many more will be in attendance.
There will also be exclusive demos at the event and plenty of familiar faces, including special celebrity guests.
